Kennedy Replacement Named

Former Kennedy aide and DNC chairman Paul Kirk was appointed to serve as Senator by Governor Deval Patrick.

He has announced that he will not run in the special election.

So, the Dems have cloture, so long as Senator Byrd keeps breathing.
